ePPS - ePLANNING Portfolio Solutions

ePLANNING Portfolio Solutions (ePPS) is an industry leading, comprehensive and flexible investment management platform.  ePPS is designed to streamline an advisor’s ability to manage their current business and target new clients, allowing them to grow their fee-based revenue.  ePPS provides one set of tools and one process making it easy to get up and running. 

One of the most powerful features of ePPS is that it removes the “all-or-nothing” investment option you are limited to with many fee-based platforms.  ePPS allows you to easily create a proposed client portfolio and provides you the standard options of accepting or rejecting the proposal, however, in addition, ePPS provides you the option of fine-tuning the proposed investment elements allowing you to create the exact, perfect solution for your client. 

Please note that to use ePPS you must be an Investment Advisory Representative (IAR) of ePLANNING Advisors, Inc., our Registered Investment Advisor (RIA). 

The ePPS platform is provided to ePLANNING Securities through our partnership with National Financial Services (NFS) and ePPS is embedded directly into StreetScape their broker workstation.  NFS created this platform under the name Managed Account Solutions (MAS) through their partnership with Envestnet Asset Management and Strategic Advisors.  While the website is referred to as MAS, client materials will show the private-label name ePLANNING Portfolio Solutions (ePPS). 

ePPS currently provides representatives with three program options (with different minimum investment amounts) tailored to meet the diverse needs of their clients.  A fourth option, Rep as Portfolio Manager, is scheduled to be available in 2008.

1. Separately Managed Account (SMA) Program (Minimum Investment is $500,000)
In the SMA program, client’s investment portfolios are divided between several different accounts with each account assigned to a different manager and each account manager managing a separate portion of the portfolio using individual securities.  The overall portfolio is managed and monitored by Envestnet Asset Management. Envestnet has developed and implemented a program to collect and report data on investment styles, investment philosophy, past performance and management personnel.

2.  Multi-Manager Account (MMA) Program (Minimum Investment is $250,000)
In the MMA program, client’s investment portfolios are managed in a single account using several different managers, with each manager being allocated a portion of the client’s portfolio to manage.  Like the SMA program, these managers use individual securities.  Envestnet is the overall manager responsible for the client’s portfolio allocation strategy and the selection of the individual managers.

3.  Strategic Advisors Mutual Fund Advisory (SAI) Program (Minimum Investment is $50,000)
In the SAI program, the client’s investment portfolios are managed in a single account using mutual funds selected by Strategic Advisors, Inc. (SAI), a subsidiary of Fidelity Investments.   Prior to selection, SAI conducts extensive research and due diligence on these no-load mutual funds and then asset allocates them into portfolios in order to meet the needs of clients with different risk profiles.

4. The Rep as Portfolio Manager (coming in 2008)

The Rep as Portfolio Manager provides a new option allowing you to model portfolios of your own making while maintaining all the functionality inherent in the ePPS platform. It provides sophisticated portfolio modeling and diagnostic tools to construct, manage, and rebalance model portfolios for their clients. It offers automated alerts, portfolio rebalancing, and tremendous flexibility.

3. The ePPS Coaching Program 

The ePPS Coaching Program is a year-long series of monthly meetings designed to help you develop and grow your fee-based business.   Each session covers different areas of technical knowledge, market conditions, and business development.  To get the most value out of the series a rep would attend all the meetings, but we recognize that, though ideal, this may not be doable, so we've designed each workshop to stand on its own.  The year-long Coaching Program covers the following topics:

Our Guest Lecturer for the Coaching Program is Mr. Carl H. Reinhardt, CLU, ChFC.  In Carl’s very successful career he has helped raise billions of dollars in fee-based assets.  He has created mutual funds, co-authored a book, conducted educational courses, been widely quoted in national publications, and has served on the national board of the IAFP.   But Carl isn’t just another “talking head” masquerading as a coach.  Carl is an ePLANNING Representative running a fee-based business with $300 million in assets under management.
